Lot #027

Chinese Carved Wood Seated Guanyin

Ming dynasty or later.

Seated in dhyanasana on a raised plinth, the hands held  in the lap, the long robes draping in folds over the body and open at the chest, the serene face with a down cast meditative expression beneath hair gathered behind a tall faceted cap, traces of black pigment, reverse with a square aperture.
